Migrate from Sage to Billora
without losing 20 years of accounting.
Sage is a powerful but heavy ERP. Moving to Billora saves you 5 to 10× the price and frees you from the server/licenses burden — without losing clients, products or historical numbering.
Migrate from Sage in 4 steps
A clear path so nothing gets lost along the way.
Export from Sage
From Sage 50/100, open the Clients module then Products and export as CSV or Excel.
Adapt to Billora format
Open the CSV in Excel or Google Sheets. Rename columns using the Billora template.
Import into Billora
Create your Billora account, go to Settings → Data import.
Resume your numbering
Configure the next invoice number to continue the Sage sequence.
Detailed migration guide
Each step explained, with Moroccan-specific attention points (ICE, numbering, VAT).
Export from Sage
From Sage 50/100, open the Clients module then Products and export as CSV or Excel.
- File menu → Export → CSV UTF-8 (or Excel .xlsx)
- Check all fields: name, ICE, IF, RC, address, contacts, payment terms
- Also export the products/services list (name, HT price, VAT, unit)
Adapt to Billora format
Open the CSV in Excel or Google Sheets. Rename columns using the Billora template.
- Sage "Company Name" → Billora "name"
- Sage "ICE" → Billora "ice" (15 digits, remove spaces)
- Sage "Payment delay" → Billora "paymentTerms" (number of days)
- Save as CSV UTF-8
Import into Billora
Create your Billora account, go to Settings → Data import.
- First upload the clients CSV, verify the mapping
- Then the products CSV
- Billora detects duplicates and flags errors (invalid ICE, negative price…)
Resume your numbering
Configure the next invoice number to continue the Sage sequence.
- Settings → Numbering → "Next number"
- E.g. if your last Sage invoice was FA-2026-0450, set 451
- No sequence break — the DGI won't see a gap
Ready-to-use CSV templates
Download the Billora import file templates, fill them from your export and import them directly into Billora.
What changes (and what doesn't)
Your Sage history remains accessible
We recommend keeping Sage in read-only for 12 months to consult historical invoices and handle a potential tax audit. Then you can archive the database.
Sage general accounting vs Billora
Billora does management accounting (VAT reports, sales journal, aging…) — not general ledger. Your accountant keeps their accounting tool and accesses Billora in read-only to prepare entries.
Sage licenses: what to do?
Subscription-based Sage licenses stop when you cease payments. Older perpetual licenses remain your property (viewable). Contact your reseller for cancellations.
Migration frequently asked questions
How long does the full migration take?
For a business with 100-500 clients and a standard product catalog: 1 to 2 working days spread over 3-5 days (export, mapping, import, tests). We can help if needed.
Can I also import historical invoices?
Historical invoices can be imported for tax archive, but we recommend starting a clean new numbering in Billora and leaving history viewable in Sage for 12 months. Simple, safe, no sequence break risk.
What if my import contains errors?
Billora validates each line before import: invalid ICE (not 15 digits), duplicates, missing required fields. The report details errors — you fix the CSV and re-import. No corrupted data gets in.
