How does your client sign a quote online?
- 1
You send the quote
From Billora, send the quote by email or WhatsApp. Your client opens it in their client portal, with nothing to install: the first time, they simply create their access with their email address and a password.
- 2
They state who is signing
They enter their full name, job title (optional) and email address, then tick the acceptance box, which shows the quote number and total amount including VAT.
- 3
They confirm with a code received by email
A 6-digit code, valid for 10 minutes, is sent to the address given. They read the exact document to be signed, draw their signature with a finger or mouse, then enter the code.
- 4
The quote is accepted
The quote is automatically marked as "Accepted", your team is notified and the signed PDF is emailed to the signer. You can then convert the quote into an invoice in one click.
What you get
A signed PDF with its certificate
The PDF shown to your client, unchanged, followed by an "Electronic signature certificate" page: signer, verified email address, date and time, verification method and document fingerprint.
An evidence file
Billora keeps a record of who accepted what and when: declared identity, email address verified by the code, acceptance text, SHA-256 fingerprint of the document, timestamp and a log of each step.
A quote locked once signed
A quote signed electronically can no longer be edited (except internal notes) or deleted. If it is edited during signing, the request is cancelled and your client signs the new version.
Tracking in your workspace
On the quote page, the "Electronically signed" box shows the signer, the verified email address, the signing date and a button to download the signed PDF.
Online signature, explained
How does it work?
Your client confirms their identity with a 6-digit code received by email, draws their signature and ticks the acceptance box. Billora freezes the quote PDF and records its SHA-256 fingerprint, the date and time, the truncated IP address, the browser and the acceptance text. An "Electronic signature certificate" page is added to the signed PDF, and the signed quote can no longer be modified.
What is it for?
Speed: your client accepts the quote in minutes, from their phone or computer, with no printing, scanning or sending paper back. The quote automatically moves to "Accepted", you can convert it into an invoice straight away, and you keep an evidence file.
What is it worth legally?
It is a simple electronic signature within the meaning of Moroccan Law No. 43-20, suited to the everyday acceptance of your quotes. It is not a qualified electronic signature: for a document that legally requires a qualified signature, use a qualified provider. If in doubt, check with your legal adviser.
Frequently asked questions
Does my client need a Billora account to sign?
No. They sign from their client portal, opened from the link received with the quote. The first time, they create their access (email address and password); there is no app to install.
How long is the code received by email valid?
10 minutes. Your client has 5 attempts and can request the code up to 3 times for the same signature.
What does the signed PDF contain?
The quote exactly as it was shown to your client, followed by an "Electronic signature certificate" page: signer, verified email address, date and time, truncated IP address and SHA-256 fingerprint of the document. You download it from the quote page; your client receives it by email.
Is the signed PDF sealed?
If your company's certificate (the one used for electronic invoicing) is uploaded to Billora, the signed PDF is sealed with it. Otherwise, it states that it is not sealed and Billora keeps its fingerprint. Either way, your client's signature is never blocked.
What happens if I edit the quote while my client is signing?
The signature request is cancelled: your client has to sign the new version. They can therefore never sign a document different from the one they read.
Can my client reject the quote?
Yes. The reject button remains available in their client portal, with no code or signature required.
What happens if my monthly signature quota is reached?
Your client is never blocked: they can still accept the quote with a simple drawn signature, without a code or certificate. The number of signatures per month depends on your subscription.
