Migrate from Wave to Billora
and finally become DGI-compliant.

Wave is free but US-first: no ICE, no IF, no Moroccan VAT, no 2026 compliance. Migration to Billora takes hours and gains you all local compliance — while keeping a free plan too.

Migrate from Wave in 4 steps

A clear path so nothing gets lost along the way.

1

Export from Wave

In Wave → Settings → Data export.

2

Convert USD → MAD

Wave invoices in USD by default for international accounts.

3

Add ICE, IF, RC (missing in Wave)

Wave doesn't have these fields.

4

Create your Billora account and import.

Detailed migration guide

Each step explained, with Moroccan-specific attention points (ICE, numbering, VAT).

1

Export from Wave

In Wave → Settings → Data export.

  • Select "All my data"
  • Wave generates a ZIP with Customers.csv, Products.csv, Invoices.csv
  • Download and unzip
2

Convert USD → MAD

Wave invoices in USD by default for international accounts.

  • Note the USD → MAD rate (about 10 MAD/USD)
  • Open Products.csv, multiply HT prices
  • Your future Billora invoices will be in MAD by default
3

Add ICE, IF, RC (missing in Wave)

Wave doesn't have these fields.

  • Open Customers.csv, add an "ice" column (15 digits)
  • Fill client-by-client — those you invoice regularly first
  • For individuals, leave "ice" empty
4

Import and activate compliance

Create your Billora account and import.

  • Settings → Import → clients then products
  • Settings → Company → fill YOUR company's ICE, IF, RC, patente
  • Choose the VAT regime (debit or cash)
  • Configure numbering

Attention points

What changes (and what doesn't)

VAT absent in Wave

Wave has basic sales tax handling (US/CA), not Moroccan multi-rate VAT. After import, each Billora product has 20% VAT by default — modify if necessary (14%, 10%, 7%, exempt). Future invoices will have the mandatory DGI-format VAT breakdown.

Wave keeps your data 6 months

After Wave cancellation, your data remains readable for 6 months. Ideal for consulting history if needed. We recommend a 30-day overlap (parallel Billora test) before cancelling.

Non-transferred Wave features

The full accounting module Wave (with US chart of accounts), payroll, bank fees — not transferred. Billora focuses on invoicing + management, full accounting stays with your accountant. Payroll is not in Billora.

Migration frequently asked questions

Wave is free, Billora too. Why migrate?

Billora Starter is free and DGI-compliant (ICE, multi-rate VAT, breakdown, sequence…). Wave is free but US-first. For any Moroccan business invoicing local clients, Billora is the right choice — even staying on the free plan.

Can I export Wave in French?

Wave is English-only for interface, but the CSV export has English headers that you rename easily. The Billora template makes mapping easy.

What happens to my Wave invoice history after migration?

It stays with Wave (accessible 6 months in read-only after cancellation). We recommend downloading PDFs of important invoices before cancelling, to keep in your archives (10 years in Morocco).
