Customising the header and footer of your invoices: logo, banner and letterhead

A readable logo, a footer that survives printing, a letterhead in your colours: how to give your invoices, quotes and purchase orders a real visual identity without losing any of your legal mentions.

Your invoice is your business card

An invoice is not just an accounting document. It is often the only document your customers keep, forward to their accountant and receive every month. A logo that is too small, a footer that is unreadable once printed, or a layout that looks nothing like your brand: each one is a missed chance to look professional.

The good news: in a few minutes you can give your PDF documents the look you want, without ever compromising what must appear on them.

What your invoice must always contain

Whatever the customisation, a Moroccan invoice must remain complete: company name, address, your identifiers ICE, IF, RC and TP, and your customer's details. These mentions traditionally sit in the header and the footer, which is why their legibility is not only a matter of style: it is a matter of compliance.

In Billora, the automatic footer prints your tax identifiers and bank details in 8-point dark grey, with a safety margin from the edge of the sheet, so that it stays readable even on an office printer.

Logo and name: the basics

The most useful settings are also the simplest, and they are open to every subscription:

  • Logo size: Small, Medium, Large or Extra large. Your proportions are always respected.
  • Its position: left, centre or right of the header.
  • The size and position of the company name.
  • The position of the title, number and dates block: left, centre or right.

A tip: choose a PNG logo with a transparent background, at least 800 pixels wide, so it stays sharp even at a large size.

To go further, Billora accepts the images from your graphic designer:

ImageRoleRecommended format
Header bannerAt the top of the first page (or every page)Wide and short, about 2480 × 300 px
Footer bannerAt the bottom of every pageAbout 2480 × 170 to 200 px
A4 background imageBehind every page2480 × 3508 px, transparent PNG or JPEG

A few options designed to avoid unpleasant surprises:

  • Your legal mentions stay printed, unless you state that your image already contains them.
  • If your image already carries your name or your logo, a checkbox prevents printing them a second time.
  • With a background image, margins are calculated automatically: the invoice text never runs over your logo or your contact details.
  • You can overlay the title, number and dates directly on the banner, in light or dark text, and repeat the banner on every page.

No designer? Ready-to-use templates

If you have no files ready, pick one of the four templates offered (Azur, Émeraude, Prestige, Sobre): Billora draws them with your name, your logo, your contact details and your company colour. You choose between top and bottom banners or a full A4 page with a transparent background, add a tagline if you like, and it is in place in one click. You can then adjust everything, or replace it with your own images.

See the result before saving

On a wide screen, a live preview appears next to the settings: the real PDF, with sample data but your logo, your contact details and your images, updates with every change. You can view it for an invoice, a quote, a purchase order, a delivery note or a credit note, and click Save only when you like the result.

How to do it, step by step

Everything is configured in Settings → Invoice template. The detailed guide, with formats, options and solutions to common problems, is in the documentation: Customising the header and footer of your documents.
