What is it for?
Ticking off (pointer) a movement means saying: "this 12,500 DH transfer on my statement matches this payment recorded in Billora". When every movement is ticked off, your statement and your payments agree; the ones left are oversights or differences to explain. To import the statement, see Importing a bank statement.
Ticking off changes no document, no balance and no VAT: it is a control annotation. Have your differences validated by your accountant.
1. The tick-off screen
Open Paiements → Relevés bancaires (Payments → Bank statements) then click a statement. The screen shows four cards ("Mouvements", "À pointer", "Encaissé", "Décaissé") and the list of movements, with their date, label, debit or credit and status. The filter buttons show their count: "Tous", "Non rapprochés", "Rapprochés", "Ignorés" and "À revoir".
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Non rapproché (not reconciled) | No payment is ticked off with this movement yet. |
| Rapproché (reconciled) | At least one valid payment or a cheque deposit is ticked off. |
| Ignoré (ignored) | You set this movement aside, with a reason. |
| À revoir (to review) | The ticked-off payment has since been cancelled: the movement is no longer justified and needs handling again. |
The "Rapproché" status is never stored: it is recalculated every time it is displayed, so it cannot become wrong.
2. Who can tick off?
The owner, administrators, collaborators and the accountant can tick off, ignore, restore and accept suggestions. The viewer views and exports. Creating a payment from a movement additionally requires the right to create a payment (the accountant does not have it). Deleting a statement belongs to the owner and administrators. In a permission group, these actions correspond to "Pointer les mouvements", "Exporter" and "Supprimer" of the "Relevés bancaires" resource. An account scheduled for deletion is read-only.
3. Ticking off a movement
- On the movement's line, open the actions menu and choose "Pointer". The "Pointer ce mouvement" drawer opens.
- Search the list: the search covers the third party, the document or the reference; the "Montant exact seulement" box keeps only identical amounts. Exact amounts come first ("Montant exact").
- Tick one or more payments. The "Sélection" area compares the sum with the movement's amount: "Il manque …" (missing) or "Excédent de …" (excess) until the sum is exactly equal to the cent.
- Click "Pointer" (available only when the sum is exact).
A receipt is ticked off with received payments, a payment out with issued payments. A movement can match several payments (a client who settles two transfers as one); conversely, a payment is ticked off only once.
Cheque deposits
When you deposit several cheques in one deposit, the bank credits a single line: tick off the deposit ("Remise de chèques REM-…"); it is ticked off on its own. A received cheque that is part of a deposit is not offered separately.
What is not offered
- cash payments (they do not go through the bank);
- cancelled payments and those already ticked off against another movement;
- a received cheque that is not yet cashed and not in a deposit; an issued cheque that is cancelled or bounced;
- a cheque or deposit attached to another bank account than the statement's.
Payments have no bank account of their own: a transfer payment may therefore be offered on the statement of any of your accounts. Only cheques and deposits carry their account.
If the server refuses, a message explains why, for example: "La somme sélectionnée (X DH) doit être égale au montant du mouvement (Y DH).", "Un paiement en espèces ne passe pas par la banque : il ne peut pas être pointé.", "Une des pièces sélectionnées est déjà pointée sur un autre mouvement." or "Ce mouvement est déjà rapproché : annulez d'abord son pointage."
Undoing a tick
On a reconciled movement, choose "Annuler le pointage". The movement becomes "Non rapproché" again. Payments are never touched.
4. Suggestions
Billora proposes matches based on the exact amount, the date and the reference found in the label. A suggestion is only a proposal: nothing is ever ticked off without your agreement.
- Date: a transfer or card payment within ±5 days of its date; a cheque deposit from 1 day before to 5 days after the deposit date; an issued cheque from its issue date up to 60 days later (the bank sometimes debits late).
- Reference: cheque number, payment reference, invoice or expense number, deposit reference, found in the label ("Référence « FA-2026-0012 » trouvée dans le libellé"), or the client's or supplier's name.
- "Suggestion sûre" (safe suggestion): identical amount, date within 2 days, reference found and a single possible document. Otherwise, "Suggestion probable" (likely suggestion).
The suggestion appears under the movement, with its reasons. "Accepter la suggestion" (the tick) ticks off the movement; "Écarter la suggestion" (the cross) hides it for this screen. The green banner "N suggestions sûres" offers "Tout accepter" to accept only the safe suggestions at once. On every acceptance, Billora recalculates and re-checks: if the document changed in the meantime, it shows "Cette suggestion n'est plus valable : la pièce a changé depuis."
When several payments are equally likely for one movement (two identical transfers on the same day), Billora does not choose for you: "Plusieurs paiements possibles pour ce mouvement : pointez-le manuellement."
5. Ignoring a movement
Some movements have no payment to tick off: bank fees already counted elsewhere, a transfer between your accounts. Choose "Ignorer": the "Ignorer ce mouvement" window asks for a "Motif" (reason; mandatory, 191 characters at most; the templates "Frais déjà comptés", "Virement interne" and "Régularisation bancaire" are offered) and confirm. The movement becomes "Ignoré" and no longer counts among the movements to tick off. "Rétablir" (Restore) puts it back. A reconciled movement cannot be ignored: undo its tick first.
6. Creating a payment from a movement
A receipt with no matching payment? Choose "Créer un paiement reçu" (or "Créer un paiement émis" for a payment out). Billora opens the payment-recording window with the movement's amount, date and reference already filled in; you choose the client (or supplier) and the invoices (or expenses) settled. On saving, the payment is ticked off with the movement straight away: "Paiement enregistré et pointé avec le mouvement."
Creating and ticking off are not one single operation: if the tick fails, the payment does exist. The message "Le paiement est enregistré, mais son pointage avec ce mouvement a échoué : pointez-le depuis la liste." tells you so. The usual payment rules apply (cash, ceilings, e-invoicing).
7. Exporting the reconciliation
The "Exporter les non pointés" (movements not reconciled and to review) and "Exporter le rapprochement" (all movements) buttons download a CSV file with: operation date, value date, label, reference, debit, credit, status, reconciled documents, third party, ticked on, ticked by and "Motif (ignoré)". Amounts are positive, in two columns. Labels starting with =, +, - or @ are neutralised so that your spreadsheet does not run them as formulas.
Ticks, undone ticks, ignored movements, imports and exports are recorded in the activity log.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my cash payment not offered?
A cash payment does not go through the bank: it will never appear on the statement. Billora therefore does not offer it, and refuses to tick it off.
My received cheque does not appear in the list.
If it was deposited at the bank, tick off the deposit (a single line on the statement). Otherwise it is only offered once cashed. See Tracking your cheques.
What does "À revoir" mean?
The ticked-off payment was cancelled afterwards. The movement is no longer justified: tick it off again with another payment, create one, or ignore it with a reason.
Can I delete a statement?
Yes, if you are the owner or an administrator: the statement, its movements and their ticks are deleted; your payments do not change. The accountant cannot delete a statement.
I made a mistake while ticking off.
Choose "Annuler le pointage" on the movement, then tick it off again: nothing was changed in your documents.
