What is it for?

You have just created your account and entered your verification code. Before sending your first invoice, five steps are enough to make your documents complete and compliant. Allow about 20 minutes.

Example. Omar has just opened a small carpentry company in Salé. He starts by entering his ICE and his logo, creates a client, a "Porte en bois" (wooden door) product, then issues his first test invoice.

You are in test mode

Your account starts in test mode: everything you create is practice, to be erased when you activate your account. You can therefore try everything without worry (see Trial period and test mode). The information from step 1 is kept on activation if you check "Conserver ma configuration" (Keep my configuration).

The built-in guide

After sign-up, the Guide de démarrage (Getting-started guide) page opens (/dashboard/onboarding) with a step-by-step scenario and a progress bar. Until you have finished, a Démarrez avec Billora (Get started with Billora) block stays displayed at the top of your dashboard, with a Voir le guide (See the guide) link. Each step ticks itself off when you complete it.

1. Fill in your company details

  1. Open Paramètres → Informations (Settings → Information).
  2. In Informations légales (Legal information), enter the company name, legal form, the ICE (15 digits), the IF, the RC and the TP.
  3. Complete the Coordonnées (Contact details) and the Adresse (Address).
  4. In Apparence (Appearance), add your logo.
  5. Add your bank account so that your RIB is printed on your invoices (Paramètres → Comptes bancaires, Settings → Bank accounts).
  6. Save. This information is printed automatically on all your documents.
Good to know

Also set up your VAT (TVA) now: Paramètres → TVA & Fiscalité (Settings → VAT & Taxation) (registered or exempt, invoice-basis (débit) or cash-basis (encaissement) regime, default rate). This is what determines the calculation of your invoices. See Set up VAT.

2. Create your first client

  1. Open Répertoire → Clients (Directory → Clients) then click the create button (or use the Créer (Create) button at the top → Nouveau client (New client)).
  2. Choose the type (company or individual) and fill in at least the name. For a company, add its ICE (see Is the ICE mandatory?).
  3. Save. The client record appears in the list.

If you already have a client list in Excel, import it in one go (see Import your clients and products).

3. Create your products and services

In Répertoire → Produits (Directory → Products), create what you sell, with its price excluding VAT and its VAT rate. It will be suggested automatically when you compose an invoice. See Create your products and services.

4. Issue your first invoice

  1. Open Facturation → Factures (Billing → Invoices), then create a Nouvelle facture (New invoice) (shortcut Ctrl+Alt+N).
  2. Choose the client, add lines from your products, check the totals.
  3. Save: the invoice is first a draft. Preview the PDF, then send it from its record.

Details in Create an invoice. While you are in test mode, your PDFs carry the "TEST" watermark and emails are marked "[MODE TEST]": send the invoice to yourself to see the result.

5. Enable reminders

In Paramètres → Relances (Settings → Reminders), you set up automatic reminders so that Billora notifies your clients whose invoice is overdue. Depending on your subscription, this feature is included or locked: the page then tells you from which plan it is available. See Invoice reminders.
