What is it for?

You are stopping your business, or you no longer want to use Billora, and you want your data erased. Account deletion is made for that. It is deliberately gradual: you have time to retrieve your documents and to change your mind.

Example. Laila is closing her hair salon in Meknès. She requests deletion, exports all her documents during the retention period, then the account is erased automatically on the scheduled date.

Who can do it?

Only the account owner. The Gestion du compte (Account management) menu appears only for them; administrators and other roles do not see it.

1. The three options on the "Gestion du compte" page

Open Paramètres → Gestion du compte (Settings → Account management). Three cards are offered:

OptionWhat happensReversible?
Suspension temporaire (Temporary suspension)Your account and all its members are blocked; your data is kept in full.Yes, on request to support
Désactivation du compte (Account deactivation)All access is revoked, the subscription is terminated with no prorated refund, data is kept 12 months under the terms of use, then deleted.Yes, within 12 months, via support
Suppression définitive (RGPD) (Permanent deletion (GDPR))Complete erasure of your data (right to erasure), after a delay during which you can still change your mind. This is the subject of this article.Cancelable during the delay, irreversible afterwards

2. Request deletion, step by step

  1. Export your data first: Paramètres → Import / Export → Exporter toutes mes données (Settings → Import / Export → Export all my data) (see Your data and privacy). You will also be able to do it afterwards, but there is no point in waiting.
  2. In Paramètres → Gestion du compte, click the Suppression définitive (RGPD) card. The list of consequences is displayed.
  3. In Détails de votre demande (Details of your request), explain the reason (at least 10 characters, 2000 maximum).
  4. Expand Conditions Générales d'Utilisation (Terms of Use) to read them, then check the box "J'ai lu et j'accepte les conditions générales d'utilisation…" (I have read and accept the terms of use…).
  5. Click the button that submits your deletion request. A banner "Demande de Suppression définitive (RGPD) — En attente de confirmation email" (Permanent deletion request (GDPR) — Awaiting email confirmation) appears.
  6. Open your mailbox and click the confirmation link. Without confirmation within 48 hours, the request is cancelled automatically.

The banner then changes to "Confirmée — en attente de traitement" (Confirmed — awaiting processing).

3. Validation by the Billora team

A team member checks your request (allow about 2 business days after your confirmation), then validates it. You receive an email stating the deletion date, reminding you that you can export your data and cancel.

4. The retention period: read-only

From validation, the retention period starts running: it is set by Billora, and the Gestion du compte page shows the exact duration and date that apply to you. During this period:

  • the account is in read-only mode: you can view everything, but you can no longer create or edit documents (a red banner reminds you);
  • automatic reminders and recurring invoices are suspended: nothing goes out to your clients anymore;
  • you can export all your data (Exporter mes données (Export my data) button on the page);
  • you can cancel the deletion with the Annuler la suppression (Cancel the deletion) button: the account goes back to normal;
  • you receive an email reminder 15 days then 3 days before the scheduled date.
Good to know

An account scheduled for deletion is never suspended or "locked out" by the subscription cycle, precisely so that you keep access to export and cancellation until the end.

5. Permanent erasure

On the scheduled date, deletion is carried out automatically: invoices, clients, products, documents and your team's access are permanently erased. You receive a confirmation email once the deletion is complete.

After erasure, nothing is recoverable

You can cancel until erasure starts; beyond that, it is irreversible. Export your data before the deadline.

What is kept anyway

  • The subscription invoices issued by Billora to you remain kept 10 years in Billora's accounting, as an accounting obligation.
  • An anonymous trace of the deletion (without name, email or any data from your activity) is kept for audit.
And your retention obligations?

Your company must keep its accounting records 10 years. Billora cannot do it for you after erasure: keep the exported archive.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change my mind?

Yes, as long as the deletion date has not been reached (and before erasure starts): Annuler la suppression button on the Gestion du compte page. You can also cancel the request even before its confirmation (Annuler la demande (Cancel the request) button).

I did not receive the confirmation email.

Look in your spam folder. If you have not confirmed within 48 hours, the request is cancelled: make it again.

Do my colleagues lose access?

From validation, everyone switches to read-only; at erasure, their access to this account disappears. Their personal accounts are deleted only if they have no other attachment (another company, for example).

What is the difference with cancelling my subscription?

Cancelling stops the subscription but does not delete your data. Deleting the account erases the data. See Change plan or cancel.
